ESTRELLA FUGAZ: Miguel Cárdenas

19 September - 14 November 2026

Miguel Cárdenas' practice constructs a symbolic topology where imagination, myth and matter converge. His work unfolds as an imaginary archeology, exploring the material echoes of time, in which the past and the future intertwine. Through painting, sculpture, drawing and digital animation, Cárdenas opens a territory where creation becomes an active memory: a force that preserves, transforms and reanimates fragments of a story that inhabits his vast imagination.

Miguel Cárdenas' first solo installation at the Elvira Moreno Gallery, Estrella Fugaz -"Shooting Star"-, is an immersive, in situ work that examines the tension between the monumental and the intimate. The work recovers stories, imagines futures, and reflects on the wonder inherent in its practice. "Shooting Star" explores the ephemeral and persistent facets of desire. Using a multidisciplinary approach integrated into a monochromatic mural, the installation presents works deliberately arranged to create polyphonic narratives that interact in unexpected ways. Each piece functions as a stage with a theatrical component, revealing an intimate choreography that reflects the contents of our minds while exhibiting his most recent works in a composition that seeks to contribute new narratives to the mural tradition, so emblematic in the history of Latin American art.
