"Ethos" is defined as the "Set of traits and modes of behavior that make up the character or identity of a person or community." Ethos is part of the main aspects of the Aristotelian discourse that complements the notions of Pathos and Logos, fundamental referents of the legitimacy of the discourse, the predisposition of the listener, and its moral content.
Ethos also corresponds to the moral behaviors that are projected through the deployment of our actions. Our "ETHOS" exhibit reflects on our spirit as a Contemporary Art Gallery to diagnose the actions, diligences, and all our operational, conceptual, and strategic strengths in order to reinforce our potential and contribute more every day to the cultural profile of the continent, offering our audiences symbolic and educational content of a depth up to their standards.
ETHOS is articulated through a curatorship that exerts significant links through a selection of works by our represented artists reflecting on the curatorial axes that have defined our space's language: the subversive creation of dialogues that defy censorship and oppression, the modernist utopias and their disconcerting results, the investigation of alternative means of artistic expression, the marginalized historical manifestos, and the self-taught creations of women that reflect upon their region's identity, all of them accompanied by an undeniable force that is manifested sublimely in each of the selected works.
ETHOS configures our exhibit as a space examining and reflecting our path over this last year, in which we've encompassed our growth with our artists, collectors, and audience. It is about exploring our Zeigeist in this post-pandemic era in which the world is gradually finding its meaning and continuity.
