Tate Scoops Up Works by Michaela Yearwood-Dan, Luis Fernando Zapata at Frieze London

Two artists, two distinct approaches to materiality, and a significant milestone for Tate’s national collection.

Through the 2026 Frieze Tate Fund, Tate has acquired Peace Unknown (2026) by British artist Michaela Yearwood-Dan, presented by Hauser & Wirth at Frieze London, and Barge (1992) by Colombian artist Luis Fernando Zapata, presented at Frieze Masters.

The acquisitions also highlight Frieze’s continuing role in bringing significant artworks into public collections, making them accessible to audiences for generations to come.
