Tate acquires new works for the national collection at Frieze London and Frieze Masters 2026

Two artists are joining the national collection at Tate through the 2026 Frieze Tate Fund, celebrating the power of contemporary art to expand and enrich public collections.

The acquisitions include Peace Unknown (2026) by British artist Michaela Yearwood-Dan, acquired from Hauser & Wirth at Frieze London, and Barge (1992) by Colombian artist Luis Fernando Zapata, acquired from Galería Elvira Moreno and Alonso Garcés Galería at Frieze Masters.

Working across richly layered surfaces and experimental materials, both artists offer distinctive approaches to materiality and artistic expression. These acquisitions also mark the first time their work enters Tate’s collection.
