Henry Salazar holds a Master's Degree in Fine Arts from the Instituto Departamental de Bellas Artes de Cali. He is currently a candidate for a Master's Degree in Management of Artistic and Cultural Projects at the University of La Rioja, Logroño, Spain. He has participated in sculpture and drawing workshops at the Atelier del Mazo, Bremen, Germany. His training includes the XVI Cátedra Internacional de Arte Luis Ángel Arango on "The First Age of Pop" with Hal Foster at BLAA, Bogotá; the Taller de Autoedición y Libros de Artista with Matt Neff at Lugar a Dudas, Cali; and the Octavo Simposio Pensar a Cali on "Estéticas de la Habitabilidad" at the Instituto Departamental de Bellas Artes, Cali.
Salazar's work is a captivating exploration of modern architecture's approaches and the aesthetic and urbanistic foundations of architects such as Le Corbusier. His unique perspective and deep interest in this field make his art a compelling study for enthusiasts and historians alike.
In his most recent artistic practice, Salazar has been interested in using the pilot plan for Tumaco (1948-1953), which was never implemented, as a reference for several of his projects. The Tumaco Pilot Plan was commissioned to architects who were disciples of Le Corbusier, Sert, and Wiener and to the Colombian architect Luz Amorocho. After subjecting them to a decolonial ' acclimatization, the plan took up their architectural proposals and designs.
His recent exhibitions include: Blueprints (solo), Espacio Interferencia, Cali 2019; Dulce Tumaco, Flora ars + natura, Bogotá 2018; Carretera al mar, Museo La Tertulia, Cali 2018; Oficina de proyectos contingentes (solo), Lugar a Dudas, Cali 2016; Nada será como antes, sigue brillando, Pabellón Artecámara, Bogotá 2015 and Sedimentaciones (solo), Lugar a dudas, Cali 2015.
