Represented artist Joaquin Segura will be in conversation with interdependent curator, researcher, critic, and editor Sylvie Fortin today at ISCP from 6–8 pm.
Joaquin will discuss his practice and a forthcoming Buenos Aires 2024 commission. His research-driven process draws upon historical and contemporary power and political issues through installation, photography, video, and intervention.
Sylvie Fortin is an interdependent curator, researcher, critic, and editor between New York and Montreal. She has held curatorial roles, including Curator-in-Residence at Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Nebraska; Curator of Contemporary Art at Agnes Etherington Art Centre at Queen’s University, Ontario; and Curator at Manif 5 – the 5th Québec City Biennial, Québec. Her writings have been published in numerous catalogs, anthologies, and periodicals such as ‘ART PAPERS,’ ‘Art Press,’ and ‘Artforum.’
