We are honored to announce that the Museo Reyna Sofia, Madrid, Spain, has acquired two emblematic works by Luis Fernando Zapata: Objeto Ritual (1989) and Sarcófago No. 4 (1992–1994).
This acquisition by one of the world’s leading institutions of international modern and contemporary art recognizes Zapata’s artistic legacy. It affirms the critical role Latin American art plays in global art narratives.
We sincerely thank the museum and its curatorial team for valuing and preserving works that powerfully reflect the spiritual, symbolic, and aesthetic pursuits that shaped this remarkable Colombian artist's journey.
