We are pleased to announce that the Centre Pompidou in Paris has acquired three emblematic works by Luis Fernando Zapata: Objeto Ritual II (1991), Tumba (1993), and Sarcófago No. 5 (1992–1994).
This acquisition by one of the most influential institutions of modern and contemporary art in the world recognizes Zapata’s artistic legacy and places him as one of the most influential artists of his generation.
We are deeply grateful to the museum and its curatorial team for valuing and preserving works that so powerfully reflect the spiritual, symbolic, and aesthetic inquiries that defined the trajectory of this remarkable Colombian artist.
