Baró Galeria is pleased to announce 'Lucidus Disorder', a group show curated by Rolando J. Carmona opening on September 21, coinciding with La Nit de l'Art.
The exhibition will feature the works of renowned Latin American artists Diego Barboza, Artur Barrio, Sérgio de Camargo, Yoan Capote, Eugenio Espinoza, Magdalena Fernández, Gego, Jac Leirner, Hélio Oiticica, Federico Ovalles, Mano Penalva, Wilfredo Prieto, Luís Salazar, and Antonieta Sosa.
"[These artists] announced a new model of disobedience with a tropical stamp, supported by the logic of chaos. Far from being reactionary, these symbolic and physical gestures that operate from deconstruction became almost a stereo dynamic between Venezuelan and Brazilian artists. They left behind concrete art in Brazil and kinetic art in Venezuela to configure a political response against the Cartesian and Eurocentric reason that defined official aesthetics, forging works that sublimate the grid in crisis and smile at everyday life."
