Useless collection, a muted repository of sound archives stored without “caring” about their content. Their forms of appearance and transformation into objects, materials, and devices refer solely to their own morphological potentials. Eloquent silences that enable forgetting by destroying their memory and the traces of their past, making the information they carry disappear. For the collector, these circumstances are sufficient; they only need to know that the sounds are accumulated there and that, by being stored, grouped, fragmented, or crushed, their meanings are neutralized, while simultaneously allowing the emergence of other “new” ones.
