Miguel Cárdenas (Bogotá, 1973) is a Colombian artist whose multidisciplinary practice engages painting, drawing, sculpture, video-animation and murals to construct immersive environments that fuse the tangible with the imaginary. Influenced by pre-Columbian art and European modernism, his visual language blends realism and abstraction through compositions laden with ancestral symbolism that suggest a mysterious and uncertain future. He holds a Bachelor in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Master in Visual Arts from Columbia University, where he received the Agnes Martin Award for excellence in painting.
